Student Services Graduate Intern:
Eligibility: Second year, USC graduate students, only.
The SSA Student Services Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting with student related issues and special projects in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. In addition, they will follow-up with student incidents, injuries and accidents from the Department of Public Safety daily reports. This person with serve as a resource to help students transitioning out of University Housing into non-University housing, by providing information about how to find housing alternatives, processes for handling grievances, information on tenant rights and responsibilities and local listings for housing opportunities. The SSA Student Services Graduate Assistant will serve as an advocate/resource in responding to student, faculty, parent and staff concerns, issues and referrals, while assisting
and identifying key student problems/issues and working to resolve them. In addition, they will be responsible for tracking and data entry of student case notes into the Student Intake System and Daily Tracking database. They will be expected to conduct relevant research and gather necessary background information for special projects in support of the Director and Senior Associate Dean, while also helping with the preparation of presentations and/or trainings. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to listen well and provide appropriate and timely responses, possess good problem-solving skills and have a positive disposition.
