Harbor View Adolescent Center in Long Beach looking to hire a FT therapist.
Clients are teenagers (ages 11 1/2 to 17 1/2) who have been referred by
DCFS, Probation, DMH.
Duties include: individual sessions with residents 1 hour per week, run 2 50
minute groups per week, participate in treatment team meetings, IEP
meetings, discharge planning meetings, DMH paperwork.
Some case management (e.g. discharge planning) will also need to be provided
for some clients.
The residents' stay at the facility is 90 days, so the turnover of residents
is high.
Must be willing to work up to a 50 hour week while earning a 40 hour per
week salary! Looking for people who go the extra mile, who are looking to
make a difference with their clients, who are driven to work in the field
and not to simply earn a paycheck and go home!
Pay is competitive for Interns, and full benefits are provided after 90
days.
May be looking to hire someone to work Saturdays as part of their schedule.
There is room for a clinician to put his/her own "spin" on treatment (e.g.,
I pretty much made one of the empty desks in the office my "art" table and I
do art interventions with many of my kids); however, the focus is on
behavioral and measurable interventions.
The right person will learn a lot, quickly.
We will be looking for someone who is creative, flexible, hard-working, and
who wants to be part of a hard working team.
