Center for Women and Men (2 Positions Available)

Program Assistant

The USC Center for Women & Men offers a graduate employment opportunity, beginning as soon as possible. The position is responsible for helping to plan educational events such as Domestic Violence Awareness Week, organizing the annual Women’s Retreat, maintaining the library and resource areas, compiling the weekly e-news, and supporting daily operations. Please note that this position does not involve clinical counseling. Compensation is $15 per hour. The job would be for 15 hours a week, beginning as soon as possible and ending in May 2012. Project Assistant

The Los Angeles College Consortium project is a partnership between the USC Center for Women & Men and the USC Rossier School of Education. The project assistant will help plan two student summits where male and female students from nearby community colleges receive training about conducting peer education. The project assistant also will handle transactional tasks such as ordering supplies and planning meetings with community college colleagues. And the graduate assistant will help guide the male-to-male peer-education program USC Men Care, which focuses on reducing gender-related violence. Candidates should have superior oral and written communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to meet firm deadlines.
