Graduate Student Intern, Viterbi Undergraduate Admission

This Position in Open to Current Graduate Students Only.

The Viterbi Undergraduate Admission team is seeking a graduate intern to work with engineering transfer applicants. Ideal candidates possess excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of critical thinking.
The Viterbi Undergraduate Admission team works closely with engineering transfer applicants by advising them on appropriate coursework to take (prior to transfer), guiding them through the application process and communicating with them regularly in person, by phone, email and through strategic communication plans.
Position duties include:


• Assist transfer engineering applicants through application and admission process with a high level of customer service.
• Assist in quantitative application analysis – manage a database, conduct data entry, and data analysis.
• Evaluate the demographic characteristics of engineering transfer applicants in order to create annual recruitment outreach plans and develop market analysis.
• Assist in the development of communication management systems & processes.
• Handle confidential information.

Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access & Excel.
• Have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
• Be self-starters with strong critical thinking skills.
• Be a current graduate student (required)
• Be available at 10 – 20 hours week. Preferable start date is mid-May.
• Have previous office or work experience
