Hello everyone,
Since 2008, Orientation Programs has offered seminars for more than 250 new international students to assist them with their transition to USC, LA, and the U.S. The United States: An American Culture Series is a free 13-week course taught by USC staff members and graduate students. It covers various topics including American sports, food, politics, relationships, and diversity. This class is highly regarded as a way to introduce international students to campus resources, American culture, and new friends.
We are looking for volunteer instructors to teach the course during the 2012-2013 academic year. Instructors will teach with a partner and are expected to spend about 3-4 hours per week on the class. In return, instructors will gain valuable intercultural and teaching experience, and the ability to say they made a difference in the lives of our international students. Graduate students can earn up to 50 hours of field work for teaching the class. If interested, please fill out the attached application and return it to Chrissy Roth-Francis by May 1. Thank you.
