Upward Bound Assistant Director Vacany- Unviersity of Nevada, Reno

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a talented and creative assistant director for its three grant-funded Upward Bound Programs. The preferred candidate will be passionate about preparing low income, first generation high school students for the rigors of postsecondary education.

The assistant director reports to the Upward Bound Director and is responsible for the planning, coordination, assessment, and supervision of the programs including the instructional services for weekend academies and the residential component of the six-week summer academy. In addition, the assistant director has oversight responsibility for all academic support programs including direct supervision of the Tutor Coordinator. The assistant director is responsible for establishing positive rapport and good lines of communication with program staff, university staff and faculty, target school teachers and administrators, parents, and members of the local community. The assistant director takes a leadership role in all areas of program assessment and evaluation including facilitating the collection of outcome results for three federal annual performance reports.
