The
Institute of International Education (IIE), Office for Latin America,
announces the position of “EducationUSA Advisor” working in Mexico
City.
The EducationUSA
Advisor will be responsible for the daily management of the
advising center to ensure efficient and effective delivery of
educational advising services, promote U.S. higher education, reach out
to prospective student audiences, and liaise with institutions of
higher education to increase student mobility between the United States
and Mexico.
The ideal candidate should have the following
qualifications, experience and skills:
- University
degree. Educational experience at a college or university in the
United States preferred.
- 2-3 years
of professional experience in educational administration,
international education, international affairs, study abroad or
other relevant area.
- Experience
with advising and program development.
- Highly
proficient/fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.
Strong intercultural communication skills.
- Ability to
describe and compare U.S. and Mexican educational systems.Must be
able to obtain information in an interview, analyze prospective
students’ requirements, anticipate needs, and enable the student
to determine how best to satisfy these requirements.
- Research
and public speaking skills are essential
- Must be
able to respond to quickly changing priorities with a high volume
work load.
- Ability to
focus on detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Advanced
knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010, social media, email, internet
applications and database software.
- Maintains
high levels of confidentiality Uses care and discretion when
dealing with sensitive information.
