USC Student Group: Getting Recognized Process

Get Recognized for 2012-2013

Student Organization leaders:
We hope you are all enjoying summer and are ready to come back for the new academic year! We are excited for another year and have been working to create new programs that will enhance the support and experience of student organizations at USC.

As you know, every organization needs to get recognized for the 2012-2013 academic year. The recognition process runs from Monday August 1st through Monday October 1st. October 1st at 5 pm is the deadline for renewing organizations.

We wanted to inform you of the mandatory meeting requirement in order to be recognized for the upcoming academic school year. Each student organization must have a representative attend a mandatory meeting where important information will be disbursed. If a representative does not attend 1 of the 3 meetings, your organization will NOT be recognized for the academic year.

This short one hour meeting provides a chance for student organizations to be better informed and will help student organizations become more effective on campus. At the meeting, we will go over important university policies, review the recognition process, review the funding processes for the funding boards and answer any questions you might have.

We have scheduled the following meeting times.

Tuesday, September 4, 4 - 5 p.m., Bovard Auditorium (Capacity: unlimited)
Wednesday, September 12, 3 - 4 p.m., TCC 227 (Capacity: 75)
Tuesday, September 18, 12 - 1 p.m., TCC 227 (Capacity: 75)

RSVP HERE to reserve your spot!!!

Remember, your organization’s leader(s) only need to attend 1. You only need 1 representative, but if more wish to attend that is fine. If you are a graduate organization on the HSC campus, you will be able to satisfy the mandatory meeting requirement by attending the budget finance meeting that GSG holds. The schedule for those will be on the GSG website. If you have any questions, please e-mail stuacts@usc.edu.
