Mental Health Specialist I or II
Covenant House California (CHC) Hollywood Program is seeking to fill a Full-Time Mental Health Specialist I position. CHC is a multi-service residential program dedicated to assisting homeless at-risk youth/young adults. The Mental Health Specialist I is responsible for overseeing the case management and mental health services provided to residential youth. The MHS provides direct services to clients via individual and group therapy, clinical assessments, case management and crisis intervention. They are responsible for overseeing the quality of case management services and providing timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of direct services. They are also responsible for, coordinating and facilitating case reviews, and team meetings amongst clinical and multi-disciplinary program staff. The MHS provides psychotherapy to 10-15 transitional age youth, direct supervision for 3 - 4 Case Managers. The Mental Health Specialist I assists the Clinical Director to provide trainings sessions for program and clinical staff on mental health, behavioral issues, and substance abuse as needed.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree in Social Work. Must have 2 years of post graduate clinical experience, and minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a mental health and/or residential setting. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be a self-starter and a team player, with the ability to work with staff members, clients, vendors and the public.

The Mental Health Specialist II is responsible for overseeing the case management and mental health services provided to residential youth. The MHS provides direct services to clients via individual and group therapy, clinical assessments, case management and crisis intervention. They are responsible for overseeing the quality of case management services and providing timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of direct services. They are also responsible for, coordinating and facilitating case reviews, and team meetings amongst clinical and multi-disciplinary program staff. The MHS provides psychotherapy to 10-15 transitional age youth, direct supervision for 3 - 4 Case Managers and oversees 1-2 MSW/MFT Interns. The Mental Health Specialist II assists the Clinical Director to provide trainings sessions for program and clinical staff on mental health, behavioral issues, and substance abuse as needed.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and registration as a LCSW is required. Must have 4 years of clinical experience, and 2 years of supervisory experience in a mental health and/or residential setting. Certification to provide clinical supervision to MSW and/or MFT Interns is required. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be a self-starter and a team player, with the ability to work with staff members, clients, vendors and the public.
