University of Utah Housing and Residential Education Positions

Housing & Residential Education at the University of Utah is seeking talented team members for several exciting positions within our department.  The positions, a brief description of the responsibilities and a contact person for each position are listed below.  We are interviewing at both OPE and TPE.

Assistant Director for Administrative Services
The Assistant Director for Administrative Services will work in the Peterson Heritage Center (PHC), the hub of student life for our on-campus students, and in our newest residence hall, the Marriott Honors Community (MHC).  The assistant director will provide direction to the two front desk operations and mailrooms in both the PHC and MHC, in addition to general facility and space management in the PHC.  She or he will directly supervise two full-time, professional staff members (a Front Desk Coordinator and Senior Events Coordinator) and 40 to 60 student staff members indirectly.  The assistant director will have direct budget responsibility, which will include working with capital projects, facility upgrades, and ongoing maintenance, and she or he will also serve as a liaison to Dining Services and conference Services.

Residential Education Coordinator

The Residential Education Coordinator (REC) is a full-time, live-in professional staff member responsible for the coordination of a residential area of 5 to 11 buildings, housing 300 to 800 students.  The REC directly supervises two graduate students and 17 to 21 student leaders indirectly.  Other responsibilities include crisis response, conduct adjudication, chairing committees, advising, budget management, and much more.

Assistant Residential Education Coordinator (Graduate Staff Opportunity)
The Assistant Residential Education Coordinator (AREC) is a graduate assistant enrolled in the University of Utah’s Educational Leadership and Policy program.  The AREC is a part-time, live-in professional staff member who assists in the coordination of their residential area.  The AREC directly supervises 8 to 12 Resident Advisors.  Other responsibilities include crisis response, conduct adjudication, serving on departmental committees, advising opportunities, and budget oversight.

Social Justice Initiatives Graduate Assistant (Graduate Staff Opportunity)
The Social Justice Initiatives Graduate Assistant is a graduate assistant enrolled in the University of Utah’s Educational Leadership and Policy program.  The Social Justice Graduate is a part-time, live-in professional staff member who facilitates social justice programming for on-campus residents by directly supervising 5 student Social Justice Advocates. Other responsibilities include advising opportunities, serving on departmental committees, and budget oversight.
