Greetings!
On behalf of the Cal Poly Gender Equity Center, I'm pleased to announce the call for workshop proposals for our 2013 Gender Symposium, "Gender in the 21st Century: Putting Theory Into Practice". The symposium will take place on Saturday, May 19th, from 9am-4:30pm.
We will be offering two workshop tracks--the Faculty/Staff/Graduate Student Track, and the Undergraduate Track. Please direct your submission to the appropriate track (details on proposal form). Past topics have included "Sex in the Bible", "Inviting and Inspiring Men to Learn", and "Gender Expectations: Breaking the Cycle for Today's Women".
For this years symposium, workshops should concentrate on 1) how gender relates to and affects present day culture, education, media, society, and social justice issues, and 2) how this knowledge can be applied to positive social change.
To submit a workshop proposal, please click here.
All submissions are due by April 2, 2013 by 5pm.
Thank you very much for you consideration, and we hope you will join us on May 19th!
Sincerely,
Nicholas Bilich
