Study Abroad Program Coordinator

Salary Range: $32,000 - $35,000

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Department Introduction:

The Office of Internationalization provides leadership and support for the University of Denver’s efforts to internationalize the curriculum and the campus. At DU, students and scholars from overseas are part of our community, and all of our faculty and students are encouraged to study, research, and offer service in a global context.

Position Summary:

The Study Abroad Program Coordinator’s purpose is to advise students, parents, faculty and staff of the various opportunities in studying abroad. S/he is responsible for recruitment of students; promotion of programs; management of program sites; preparing students for an experience abroad, transferring course credit; facilitating housing abroad; dealing with student issues; and responding to the needs of students, parents, staff and faculty. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication ability with other staff, students and parents, a positive attitude, a willingness to be flexible as the programs develop. Must be able to multi-task working on several projects at a time and independent working skills while recognizing the need to participate in the group setting are necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
1 year of experience working with university-level study abroad students in a college/university study abroad office or with an organization focused on international education.
Participation in a semester-length or longer study abroad program.
Experience advising students regarding study abroad opportunities.
Understanding of study abroad practices, knowledge of international university academic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree.
2 years' experience working with university-level study abroad students in a college/university study abroad office or with an organization focused on international education.
Computer and marketing skills.
Facility in a second language.
Experience with marketing programs.
