Essential Duties
Assist the Assistant Dean of Students in the advising and oversight of the Associated Students of the Univesity of Wyoming (ASUW) and it's programs, committees and events.
Serve as advisor to various programs of ASUW. These programs include, but are not limited to, student government committees, Freshman Senate, Non-Traditional Student Council, United Multicultural Council, and other ASUW programs. Provide budget oversight and student development.
Provide program support and oversight for all major annual ASUW events, including Homecoming, Diversity Ball, and all campus-wide outreach efforts for ASUW. Actively participate during Summer Orientation, promoting ASUW.
In conjunction with the Assistant Dean, coordinate and develop student leadership development initiatives within ASUW. Help develop/coordinate/lead new programs for ASUW. Advise and coordinate recruitment/outreach efforts and provide independent budget supervision.
Participate as a member of the Dean Students on-call staff as appropriate; provide front-line crisis management and intervention for faculty, staff and students per DOS protocols as appropriate. Serve as a representative for the department on University or ASUW committees.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of experience working with college students in a student affairs or higher education environment.
Valid Driver's License with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy Found at: http://www.uwyo.edu/auxserv/fleet/Official-Vehicle-Policy/OVP.pdf
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in student affairs, higher education administration, counseling or related field and at least 2 years experience working in a student affairs or higher education environment.
