Drexel Univeristy Coordinator position

Position Purpose: The primary focus of this position is providing oversight and guidance to the fraternity and sorority community.  The Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life will assist in all aspects of Fraternity & Sorority Life, which include managing and advising all recognized fraternity and sorority organizations, training and working cooperatively with alumni advisors for all chapters, advising one of three governing councils, maintaining regular communication with Drexel University stakeholders, coordinating significant data, documentation, and record keeping.  The Coordinator assists in other areas of Student Affairs administration including co-curricular programming initiatives and reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Fraternity & Sorority Life.

The Coordinator position is a full-time, live-in, 12-month position.  Re-appointment for subsequent academic years is dependent upon performance.  The Coordinator will assist in providing house management and advisement to a resident population of approximately 250 students, as well as supervision of the fraternity and sorority House Directors, a team of graduate level students living in the fraternity and sorority properties.   In addition, the Coordinator serves in an on-call duty rotation to respond to on-campus emergencies and assure the health and safety of the Drexel residential community.

The Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life is a member of the Student Affairs team and will ensure programs and services are consistent with the learning priorities and strategic goals of the University and contribute to the richness of the student experience.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, or a related field or equivalent work experience. National Greek affiliation is preferred. Two years of experience working in Fraternity & Sorority Affairs and/or Residential Living in a college or university setting. Qualified individual must have effective human relation skills, successful results in advancing the fraternity/sorority movement, management experience, and possess a commitment to working with a diverse student population in an urban setting.
