The office of Orientation and Transition Programs, within the Division of Student Affairs, is an evolving office for students (freshman and transfer) and their families that facilitates the successful transition into the University of North Texas community. 
Job Description     Orientation and Transition Programs at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator II to join their team.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
  • Support all programs and initiatives originating in the office of Orientation and Transition Programs, including: Freshman and Transfer Orientation, First Flight Welcome Week, Family Weekend, and extended orientation programs
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of all aspects of Freshman and Transfer Orientation 
  • Effectively hire, train, and supervise student employees and graduate assistants 
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with academic and other university departments and offices 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessments, evaluations, and research activities related to new students 
Minimum Qualifications   
The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
A valid Texas driver's license is required to drive UNT vehicles. 

Preferred Qualifications    
  • Master's degree in college student affairs, counseling, higher education or closely related field and two or more years of experience in student affairs or working with college students or community groups in an advisory, administrative, or educational capacity
  • Thorough knowledge of special student programs and activities related to assigned area 
  • Thorough knowledge of University rules and policies related to the area of responsibility 
  • Marked ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, faculty, and staff 
  • Ability to deal tactfully with students, individually and in group situations 
  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills 
  • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
