Peer Health Exchange Opportunity

Dear Trojan Family,

Peer Health Exchange, a National nonprofit here on campus, is currently seeking Health Educators to  teach a skills-based health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education. I think PHE would be a wonderful opportunity for all of you to gain hands-on experience working with teens in our community, as well as gain public speaking, communication, teaching, and great professional experience.  Their workshop topics (including Reflection, Accessing Resources, Decision-Making, and Communication & Advocacy) build the skills of the teens we serve while engaging them on issues related to sexual health, mental health, interpersonal violence, communication & advocacy, and substance use.

Our application deadline has been extended, due to previous application technical difficulties, to September 18th—Thursday, End of Day.

Short application can be found here. You will be contacted within 24 hours to schedule a 15-minute interview this week/next week.

Commitment:
  • Attend Weekly Trainings Tuesdays at 9:00pm on campus
  • Teach 1 workshop per week (workshops are 1 hour, during high school hours 8:00-3:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays each week). Transportation to high schools provided.
  • Learn two workshops and teach throughout the academic year
