Happy 2015, Rossier!

Welcome to the new year!

Have you all been working on those New Years resolutions? We hope that you've all enjoyed your well-deserved time off over the holidays, and are adjusting well to your Spring semester commitments. We have some updates below regarding upcoming events and professional development opportunities, so read on and let us know how we can better serve you all as students.

Meet our new Senator!

Peter Huu Tran
MEd Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs '15

Peter Huu Tran is a first generation student and the first in his family to pursue a Masters Degree. From the Inland Empire, Peter has always had an interest in helping underrepresented students from low socioeconomic statuses. Moreover, Peter has found a new passion for data and assessment through PASA. He hopes to contribute to the higher education field by highlighting student needs through facts and figures.

Town Hall is an opportunity for Rossier students to come together and bring forth any issues, concerns, and suggestions on their programs, faculty, and student leadership. Please join us for a meal and a chance to chat with other students.



RSO End Of The Year Banquet
Committee Members Needed
Sunday, April 26, 2015

In Spring semester, RSO will be hosing the Rossier End Of The Year Banquet on the evening of Sunday, April 26th. This event welcomes all Rossier School of Education students and it will be held in the TCC Ballroom to celebrate all of our accomplishments throughout the year. This banquet is a huge event that requires weeks of preparation and planning, and that is where you come in!

We are looking for energetic Rossier students to help out! If any of you are passionate about event planning or want to have a part in serving on the banquet sub-committee this year, please email Sally Behpoornia at behpoorn@usc.edu by Sunday, February 1st.


Student Spotlight

Arlan Mendiola
MEd Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs '15

Arlan Mendiola has done a phenomenal job as the PASA Network
Alumni Relations Chair! His program series, Alumni Google Hangouts, brings together PASA alumni and current students from across the nation to participate in discussion forums about different topics every month! He has also been a key player in arranging the broadcast of all PASA Network programming on YouTube! Arlan is a valuable team member and is always a supportive friend outside of his Alumni Relations Chair responsibilities. Thank you Arlan for always being there and taking care of business!
