Assistant
The Graduate Assistant is a general position in
the USC School of Social Work’s Office of Admissions & Scholarship Programs
for the Master of Social Work program.
Position Description: The Graduate Assistant position
provides an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to gain experience in
the admissions field. Following the cycle of the admissions process, the
primary tasks involve:
- Answering phones
& student emails
- Application
Processing
- Tracking student
information
- Data Analysis
- Admissions
Events(open house, yield events and new student orientation)
- Projects as
assigned.
Throughout the year, the Graduate Assistant will
be included as a full member of the admissions team, participating in weekly
team meetings and providing input on office policies and operations. This
position is overseen by the Senior Admissions Coordinator.
Qualifications: The candidate is a
graduate student who is interested in the area of admissions, recruitment,
and/or student affairs. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written
communication skills and the ability to handle confidential student information
in a professional manner. Candidate must be a self-starter who is organized,
detail-oriented, and able to meet firm deadlines.
Compensation: 3 units of tuition per
semester (Fall/Spring) and 2 units of tuition for the summer. Also a commitment
of 20 hrs/week. Occasional after hours or weekend work.
