Standing Out Above the Competition: Preparing for Job Searching
A Southern California NASPA Professional Development Committee Event
This NASPA Drive-In will give you the opportunity to network with colleagues and glean new insights from experienced professionals on a variety of topics such as:
• Identifying what sets you apart from other candidates
• Learning what to expect when attending a conference
• Insight into what an employer is looking for from a job candidate
• Tips for developing a quality resume and interview skills
• Exploring institutional fit and your professional philosophy
This workshop will cover all of these topics and more, with discussions surrounding how to conduct a job search and how to land that first professional position. This drive-in is excellent for graduate and undergraduate students interested in Student Affairs as well as new professionals and career changers looking forward to new opportunities.
