Briana Weiland received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a minor in German Studies, from the University or California, Santa Barbara in 2008. After two years of exploring K-12 education, Briana found her true passion in Student Affairs. She began the PASA program in the fall of 2010.
While at USC, Briana has held graduate positions in Residential Education, Disability Services & Programs, and the Volunteer Center. She has also gained experience in International Education as a co-instructor for the American Culture Class series, offered through USC Orientation Programs. This experience inspired her to pilot the American Friends Program for students in the American Culture Class. Briana has demonstrated her dedication and connection to Rossier’s mission in urban education by serving as a mentor for two LAUSD high school seniors, through the Increasing Access via Mentoring Program.
On campus, Briana has been involved, as a PASA mentor in the PASA Mentor/Mentee Program, a student ambassador for USC Rossier’s Office of Recruiting and Admissions, and as the PASA Network Vice President. She strives to promote the professional development of all PASA students through regular workshops and presentations at general meetings. Her own leadership skills were on display as she chaired the PASA Network’s 10-year anniversary and silent auction, “PASA Network Turns 10!”
Congratulations, Briana, on this great honor! We thank you for your contributions to USC as a graduate student leader, mentor, and ambassador.
