African American Cultural Celebration (AACC) 2012
“Victory: Celebrating a legacy of excellence…Defining a future of promise.”
The African American Cultural Celebration (AACC) is a time to celebrate ourselves and our fellow Trojans for all of our accomplishments here at USC. Through speakers, performances, and multi-media presentations, people are able to express their love and endearment for the Class of 2012 and for all of their victories obtained through both scholarship and personal excellence.
The AACC 2012 Planning Committee would like to extend to this year’s graduating class the opportunity to be a part of the process of selecting these dynamic and influential speakers. Currently, we are seeking nominations for the Keynote, Graduate, and Undergraduate Speakers.
If you have any nominations for the Keynote Speaker, please send an email with your suggestion(s) to blkgrad@usc.edu ASAP! In the past, Keynote Speakers have come from various professions and fields and have included people ranging from Ernest James Wilson III, Ph.D., the dean of Annenberg School of Communication, to Judge Mablean Ephiam of “Divorce Court”. No idea is too big or too small!!
If you would like to be the Graduate or Undergraduate Speaker, please send an email to blkgrad@usc.edu your name, major, contact information such as an email and phone number that you can best be reach at, and a 100-125 word summary of your proposed speech – making sure to focus on the message that you would like to share with the graduating class. All submissions are due by Wednesday, March 28th. If you are selected, you will be notified on Friday, March 30th. On the following Thursday, April 5th, you will be asked to present a 3-5 minute speech at the AACC 2021 Planning Committee meeting which is held every Thursday in THH 106 from 5:30PM – 6:30PM.
