On behalf of Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa's Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD), we would like inform you about exciting employment opportunities for your students this summer.
We are currently accepting applications for both the Youth Squad Supervisor and Site Coordinator positions for the GRYD Summer Night Lights Program. The GRYD Summer Night Lights program is a summer violence reduction strategy that focuses on implementing positive activities at recreation centers to curtail increases in violence during the summer. Attached you will find a document with additional details regarding the program.
We need qualified candidates to fill these positions, and would like your help in spreading the word about these opportunities. Please forward these descriptions to your current students and alumni. The deadline to submit resumes is March 30th, 2012 by 5:00 pm. If this date should change, we will inform you.
In addition, GRYD Summer Night Lights staff is available to conduct presentations about the program at your campus. In order to schedule a presentation you must be able to confirm at least 30 attendees. If you are interested in scheduling a presentation, and can confirm that 30 students or more will attend, please send an e-mail to Mayra Ceballos at mayra.ceballos@lacity.org and she will assist with your request.
