Coordinator for First Year Experience
The Coordinator for First Year Experience (FYE) provides leadership and direction for the development, implementation and assessment of our First Year Experience Program within our residential communities. In conjunction with the Assistant Director for First Year Experience, the Coordinator will articulate the vision and goals for student learning and personal growth for our FYE Program. The Coordinator will develop a cohesive and integrated academic and co-curricular program that supports first year students. The Coordinator will be responsible for the development, marketing, and communication of resources specific to programming for first year students. The Coordinator will advise the FYE committee within the department and provide guidance and support for any residential area were first year students have been assigned outside of our designated first year buildings. The Coordinator will work with our department’s training committee to assist with recruitment and training of student and professional staff assigned to first year communities.

Coordinator for Staff Recruitment & Development
In conjunction with the Residential Education Leadership Team, Community Director Staff and/or hiring constituents, the Staff Recruitment & Development Coordinator will develop a comprehensive training, recruitment, and selection plan for all student staff in the department. The Coordinator will also facilitate all student staff evaluation processes and recognition programs. The Staff Recruitment & Development Coordinator will chair search processes for the professional staff positions of Community Director if vacancies occur and develop and initiate the Professional Staff orientation process. The Staff Recruitment & Development Coordinator will also serve in the on-call crisis rotation for the Department of Housing and Residential Education and facilitate the Resident Advisor training course each fall semester.

Coordinator for Housing Conduct
In collaboration with the Assistant Director for Residential Education (Conduct), the Coordinator for Housing Conduct will provide programmatic support for the Department of Housing and Residential Education in the area of Housing conduct. In conjunction with the Residential Education leadership team, the Coordinator will serve as the primary case manager and administrator of the Housing conduct system. The Coordinator will lead the departmental Conduct Committee and will oversee the implementation of the conduct system. The Coordinator will also serve as a liaison with the Office of the Dean of Students and Office of Student Conduct on campus. The Coordinator for Housing Conduct is directly supervised by the Assistant Director in Residential Education (Conduct). The Coordinator will serve as a member of the Residential Education Leadership Team. The Coordinator will also serve as a section-lead instructor for the Peer Leadership in University Environments course at least once during the academic year. The Coordinator will serve in the on-call crisis rotation for the Department of Housing and Residential Education.

Community Director
Community Directors develop and coordinate residential communities of approximately 400-1000 predominantly undergraduate students that augment and extend the intellectual climate of the University. Community Directors serve as the lead educator for students in the community and are designated as managers of their communities; including facilities operations, budget management, student conduct, and crisis management. Community Directors assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intentional learning opportunities in the community to meet the developmental needs and learning objectives of students and staff. Community Directors have responsibility for the selection, training, evaluation, supervision and mentoring of 20-50 student staff. Community Directors are expected to have direct contact with residents, including advising a community government, providing guidance to Learning Communities where applicable, and through routine daily interactions. During their tenure, Community Directors will have the opportunity to instruct a section of the Peer Leadership in University Environments (PLUE) course. Summer Operations, as a major revenue-generating business, entails the assignment of the CD during summer months to either Summer School housing, Summer Orientation, or conferences and camps.
