Position Summary:
BHC Alhambra Hospital located in Rosemead California is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults.  BHC Alhambra Hospital is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse and eating disorders treatment options for the communities of San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.

We have an immediate opening for a per diem Group Program Therapist that will be responsible for assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/ families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
    
Requirements

Education:  Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Psychology, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
Experience:  Program Therapist I requires a minimum of two (2) years experience and Program Therapist II requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.  For a specialty program (for example, Eating Disorders) experience must be with that population.  In lieu of experience specialized education and training may be acceptable.
License:  Program Therapist must be masters prepared or higher, license is not required.
Additional Requirements:  NCI training within 90 days of employment and after being deemed competent, prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.  May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
