Purpose: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month live-out professional exempt position that has guaranteed funding for one year, with the hope that it can be made a permanent position before the start of the academic year 14-15. This position provides leadership, planning, management and administrative oversight to the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) Housing & Dining Services (HDS) sustainability education and programmatic efforts for an undergraduate community of over 6,400 students in the residence halls. The coordinator will work closely to coordinate with dining services, housing facilities, residence life, and the CU environmental center to help create opportunities for increased student awareness of and behavior change around sustainability in a holistic approach of people, planet, and profit (the triple bottom line) practices with emphasis on reducing waste and resource/energy consumption. This position also works closely with resident advisors, the residence hall association, and the national residence hall honorary to further support sustainability change efforts in the residence halls and the broader campus.
