Assessment Specialist - Ethnic and Intercultural Services (unpaid)
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT
Ethnic
& Intercultural Services will lead students and the university in an
understanding of interculturalism that transforms Loyola Marymount University
into a community, in which all persons gifts are enriched and empowered.
POSITION SUMMARY
Fieldwork
assessment specialist responsibilities include student evaluations (surveys,
listening sessions, focus groups) and implementing a student learning outcome
assessment plan for the ethnic and intercultural services participants. Plan and conduct program evaluation and
outcomes assessment of student-facing services. This position will complete
projects requiring qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis in
collaboration with EIS Department. This position will also be responsible for
managing data and technology involved in storing, managing and sharing
assessment and evaluation data.
Other
duties include assisting in the coordination of culturally relevant and
intentional programs and assessment of programs and services. Applicants must
possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. The candidates must be comfortable speaking
in front of groups as well as the ability to assist with programs that may
occur evenings and weekends as needed.
This
fieldwork position will work with EIS staff members, undergraduate students and
other professionals while coordinating projects and executive summaries. This
is a hands-on learning opportunity and is a non-paid position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including skill in making
oral and written presentations through various media formats to colleagues or
subordinates to provide information, instructions, or explain subjects of
interest.
- Ability to multi-task with effective time management and organization skills
- Commitment to being at work on time every scheduled work day
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in working with a diverse student population in higher education
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team
HOURS
8-10
per week, some evening and weekend hours
may be required.
