POSITION: 4 Fieldwork Graduate Researcher - Ethnic
and Intercultural Services (unpaid)
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
Ethnic
& Intercultural Services will lead students and the university in an
understanding of interculturalism that transforms Loyola Marymount University
into a community.
POSITION
OVERVIEW
To
assist the Ethnic and Intercultural Services team in carrying out the mission,
goals, and core values of the Department’s Initiative, with the understanding
that the research should advance the GRA’s professional development. Coordinate
Special Projects. Assist with annual
review of EIS sponsored curriculum.

- Research Methods in Higher Education – Gain an understanding of the various methods that are used to conduct research in higher education.

Learn how to identify issues, reflect, and creatively develop solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate student in good academic standing and remain registered in courses that count toward the graduate degree
- Position requires strong communication
skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow protocol.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applying and mastering research concepts, practices, or methods of scholarship.
- Organizing or Analyzing Data.
- Presenting findings in a scholarly manner.
- Regularly review and critique journal articles pertinent to higher education and student affairs and submit at least one article for publication.
- Meet regularly with the Executive Director,
maintaining a list of items discussed and to be discussed during these
meetings. Complete other projects and
responsibilities as assigned.

HOURS:
8-15 per week, some evening and weekend hours may be required. One
semester based appointment but can be extended.
