Position Overview:
Coordinates the planning, development, promotion and documentation of
projects and programs for family audiences in the J. Paul Getty Museum's
Education Department, including an audience access program and an
interactive gallery. Assists with developing and finalizing project
plans and budgets. Tracks, monitors, and reports on project progress
and expenses. Participates in the development and review of contracts
with outside vendors and contractors. Supports and coordinates the work
of outside consultants and various staff members from multiple
departments. Coordinates work flow by setting work schedules and
priorities. May review work performed by staff and consultants to
ensure compliance with department quality control standards and federal
and state regulations. May research and evaluate alternative processes
and methods to determine the most cost-effective plan for obtaining the
highest quality results.
Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
* Applies comprehensive knowledge of project coordination
* Assists in developing project plans and budgets
* Monitors and reports on project progress
* Researches and may recommend outside contractors and consultants
* Facilitates work by setting schedules and prioritizing assignments
* Ensures work is completed in accordance with Getty quality
standards
* Represents the Getty by giving presentations at school sites.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree
* 4-5 years experience coordinating projects
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, or ability to learn quickly
* Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
