The Assistant Director (classified as Project/Event Coordinator) will be responsible for coordinating education and outreach programs, as well as developing and implementing individual and community development programs for target populations; will be responsible for volunteer and intern recruitment, training, and supervision; will have significant responsibility for the continued development and implementation of the Intersection Project which seeks to enhance the educational experience of LGBTQ Students of Color through initiatives that support individual academic success and wellness, community development, and intercultural competence.
Required:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in a four-year college degree program in public relations, communications, business or in an area related to the work being performed; one year of related and progressively more expansive work experience with developing and implementing educational programs and events; individual and community development activities; experience and familiarity with both LGBTQ issues and their intersections with Communities of Color; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired
Master's degree in relevant area (Education, Student Affairs, Social Work, Counseling); previous full-time employment experience; experience planning individual and community development activities within Communities of Color; high level of intercultural competency and experience with developing intercultural leaders; strong written and oral communication skills; strong public speaking and group facilitation skills.
