USC School of Social Work Seeking Graduate Assistant

The USC School of Social Work, PhD Program is seeking to hire an incoming (1st year preferred) master-level graduate student for a Graduate Assistant (clerical) position (20 hours per week).  This position includes a monthly stipend or hourly student wages, tuition remission, health and dental benefits. 
The Graduate Assistant job responsibilities involve providing complete clerical and professional assistance and support to both the Director and Manager of the PhD Program:
  • «   coordinate meetings, manage schedules, events and projects related to the program’s efforts as assigned;
  • «  produce information by formatting, editing, typing, digital, copying, transmitting and distributing text, data and graphics;
  • «   handling, retrieving and maintaining confidential files, records and information;
  • «   data collecting/findings; 
  • «   Excel and other charts/reports/tables;
  • «   recordkeeping, database entry/updating/maintaining manual or automated systems;
  • «   scanning, updating and organizing files by manual or automation; and
  • «   knowledge and adherence of university guidelines and regulations.
Applicant’s applying must also possess the following proficiencies:
  • «   very detailed conscious;
  • «   customer-care oriented;
  • «   ability to prioritize time management effectively;
  • «   good verbal and written skills;
  • «   good interpersonal skills;
  • «   ability to multi-task, stay focused and productive;
  • «   must be dependable and reliable; and
  • «   exceptional organizational, typing, computer, digital, web-based skills are required.
Other clerical duties and responsibilities will need to be performed that are not listed above. The Graduate Assistant position will involve in-depth contacts, supports and services at all phases with prospective applicants, students, faculty, alumni, personnel and persons outside and within the wider university. 
All graduate students who apply must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and comfort with readiness to learn Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, systems (including databases), and other Adobe software programs as needed.
