The Emily Shane Foundation is seeking mentors for their SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program, which provides individual mentoring to struggling middle school students, with a focus on, but not limited to, those with processing/learning challenges. Depending on the institution, this opportunity can either be paid or voluntary (as part of a course or internship requirement).
The foundation would also like to hire a mentor who can take on additional responsibilities and assume not only a mentoring position, but help oversee the Program. This position is "Area Coordinator" and pays $15/hr. It involves helping with administrative tasks, ensuring all is running smoothly, help with scheduling, etc.
Below is a write up that briefly describes the SEA Program. For additional information, please view the website, www.emilyshane.org. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or applying for the "Area Coordinator" position, please contact the President, Ms. Ellen Shane, at ellen@emilyshane.org or at 213-290-5441.
