FRONT DESK GRADUATE ASSISTANT
CENTER FOR TESTING AND ASSESSMENT
Responsibilities
of the Position:
· Answer phones, greet
people, provide front office service
· Receive materials from
faculty/TAs to be scanned
· Faculty/TA pick up of
scanned materials
· Provide placement test
results to students
· Facilitate placement
exams for math and chemistry
· Research/assessment
assistant including uptake of multiple research databases, attending Assessment
Committee meetings, help with assessment workshops and consultations, writing
executive summaries and reports, and helping with the Assessment Symposium
·
Learn to use
SPSS, Microsoft Suite including Excel, Powerpoint,
Word
·
Cross-training
with other departments in the office including Tutoring, SCP, etc.
·
Other duties
as assigned
Position
Requirements:
- MUST
BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED FOR THE SUMMER SESSION
- MUST
BE ABLE TO WORK HOURS LISTED BELOW
- Enrollment
at USC. Exam Assistants must be graduate students, preferably in
Education, Communication, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology,
Sociology, or Counseling.
- Strong
oral and written communication skills
- Ability
to work in an extremely busy environment with many interruptions
- Ability
to respond to the diversity of the USC Community
- Ability
to maintain appropriate behavior in dealing with faculty, administration,
and staff and to provide courteous services to students and parents.
Compensation: $13/hr
Hours Per Week: 20
hr/wk
Work Hours (for Summer). These are
REQUIRED Hours:
Monday 12:30-5:00
Thursday 8:30-5:00
Friday 8:30-5:00
If eligible to stay
on and work in the Fall, please let us know. Preference will be given to
students that can stay on for 10-20 hours during the Fall and Spring
semesters.
