Graduate Student Intern, Viterbi Graduate Admission

This Position is Open to Current USC NON-Viterbi Graduate Students Only.
The Viterbi Graduate Admission team is seeking a graduate intern to assist graduate engineering applicants through the admission process with a high level of customer service.  Graduate interns help guide students through the application process and communicate with them regularly in person, by phone, and email.  Ideal candidates possess excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of critical thinking.

Position duties include:

-Communicate with students to help them complete their applications, determine their application status, and manage their expectations.

-Assist with quantitative application analysis projects: work with large database of application records, conduct extensive data entry and analysis, compile and organize results for reports

-Assist with development of communication management systems: manage large volume of phone and e-mail inquiries and provide feedback and analysis for improvements.

-Process electronic and paper application materials.

-Handle confidential information.

-Contribute to web content and email campaigns.

Qualifications
-Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word; experience with Access preferred.
-Have strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
-Be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Ability to think critically about complex situations and strong problem-solving skills.
Hours requested are 15-20 hours per week and work-study is preferred. Must be enrolled in graduate coursework in Fall 2015.

MAT Student Assistant Position



The Masters of Arts in Teaching Program is currently offering a rewarding position for a student worker who is interested in a professional development opportunity working with the MAT Academic Advising Team at the USC City Center campus (near Staples Center). The position is ideal to students who are interested in academic affairs through an online graduate program.

Primary responsibilities include:
-Perform basic administrative tasks
-Prepare and review written correspondence
-Responsible for independent projects
-Perform routine data entry
-Respond to daily student inquiries via email and phone
-Complete other duties as assigned 

Pay Rate: $10-12/hour

Job Description
Supplemental Instruction Assistant Position:
Supplemental Instruction Assistants will assist students in the classroom setting with students and faculty members providing English (ESL), Math, and Science support. 
Qualifications:
·         Attend an accredited four (4) year college or university
·         Enrolled in at least twelve (12) upper division units, or nine (9) graduate units
·         Enrolled in an English, Math, Science or a related field
·         Detailed oriented
·         Basic computer skills Word, Excel, Microsoft Access.
