The English Language Center (www.elc.edu) Los Angeles is currently accepting applicants for the position of Director of Courses. ELC is a private, independent school dedicated to providing English programs of the highest quality to international students from all over the world. The Director of Courses is responsible for building a strong and positive educational environment and overseeing the academic program and the academic staff. This includes but is not limited to:

- Interviewing and placing new students
- Offering academic student counseling
- Maintaining and creating class schedules
- Maintaining the school's resource library
- Hiring, training, and supervision of the teaching staff
- Scheduling and coordinating teacher workshops
- Observing and reviewing teachers
- Overseeing curriculum implementation of general English programs as well as test preparation programs, including TOEFL and Cambridge English Exams
- Supervising the administration of monthly TOEFL/TOEIC exams
Qualifications: Minimum of BA in English or related field required. Minimum two years ESL teaching experience required. MA TESOL or related field highly desirable. Teacher training certification and/or teacher supervision and ESL administration experience preferred.
