Education Consultant
We are an educational
consulting firm looking for a counselor, capable professional to join our team
for the long term. This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals
interested in the education industry. Candidates must have excellent customer
service and management skills, as well as the ability to get along well with
multiple types of personalities, varying by students of different interests and
backgrounds. You will be assisting in meeting and guiding students through
monthly tasks assigned by the director. This is an eclectic working position
that requires you to be a multi tasker and flexible in both your schedule and
your routine. This means you must be responsible and able to follow directions,
but also work independently. Be computer literate as well as have a basic
familiarity with standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.). You must uphold
a professional manner, organized and have strong sense of discretion.
Job Title: Education Consultant
Job Description:
Responsible for guiding 100-200 students (depending on counselor's experience level) through the college admissions process. Students who come into the program in 6th-11th grade require different levels of guidance and advisement than 12th graders or graduate school / transfer applicants. Training as a counselor provided on the job.
SAT prep tutoring, one-on-one. Training provided on the job.
AP English and SAT II English prep tutoring. Training provided on the job.
Administration and management of student clubs and volunteer events organized by AM
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Passion for education, Likes to work with High School/Junior High School students
Experience working with first generation students in the college access field
Public speaking experience preferred, but not required
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral); strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ability to make sound ethical decisions
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Gmail and Gchat
Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in other language is preferred but not required.
