Position Information
Job Primary Summary:

Working independently, under the general supervision of the Administrative Specialist-Supervisor and the Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) for Honors, the Honors Collegium Coordinator (SAO I) has responsibility for the daily administration of the Honors Collegium, an interdisciplinary curriculum of Honors seminars for a cohort of high achieving undergraduate students at UCLA. Duties include: work with varied offices and units across campus, including the Scheduling Office, the Registrar, the Office of Instructional Development, the bookstore, and the divisional departments to arrange course schedules, secure appropriate rooms and instructional services, monitor course needs and deliver appropriate services to participating professors; work with the Assistant Vice Provost to provide administrative service to the Honors Faculty Advisory Committee and assist in yearly course selection and monitoring of curricular funds; work with the AVP on the Course Inventory Management system; provide efficient, courteous, and informed service and problem solving to all Collegium faculty on a regular basis, by phone, by computer, and in person, responding to multi-level requests and needs under pressure. Assist in data collection and program evaluation; develop publications and promotional materials; manage all in-house files and records pertaining to the Honors Collegium and assist in preparation of annual and ad hoc reports. Under the supervision of the Administrative Specialist-Supervisor, assist at a busy counter providing academic advising and detailed information about Honors and about University and College regulations to a large population of honors students. Lead workshops and give presentations on Honors as appropriate to incoming and continuing students. Process personnel forms for Honors academic apprentice appointments. Work as a team to help develop programs and services for Honors students. Must be able to maintain a regular schedule and on-time attendance.
