JOB DESCRIPTION:
CGCA will be working in the Computer Applications & Office Technologies (CAOT) Department as part of the Technology & Logistics (T&L) Program. CGCA would be advertising the program by conducting information sessions. Intake information will be collected from potential new students during information sessions. CGCA will administer assessments and create workshops that facilitate personal and professional development and academic skill building. CGCA’s will be trained and will provide students with academic guidance. CGCA will contact students for assistance and collect data as to the progression and completion of students earning certificates and degrees in the T&L Program and throughout the CAOT Department. Hourly Pay: $ 17.39
TRAINING:
Structured training will be provided to CGCA’s by an academic counselor from the ELAC. CGCA training will cover: disclosure, rapport & documenting; certificate and associate degree tracks; GPA calculations & transferable courses; transfer requirements; and developing a comprehensive student education plans. The training program is meant to prepare CGCA’s to begin sit-ins and case studies with the academic counselor and students throughout the rest of the time working with the program. Typically academic coaching positions should last between 1 to 2 years while the student completes their graduate school program.
