Position Title: Student Affairs Coordinator
Compensation: $16/hr.
Hours: Summer 2015 Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 5p.m.* (approx. 37.5 hours a week)
Fall 2015 Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 5p.m.* (approx. 20 hours a week)
*flexible scheduling depending on class schedule
The Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has approximately 750 undergraduate and graduate students. This position will provide a good opportunity for a graduate student to learn about the role of a student services advisor within an academic unit. Our population of students is diverse and will give exposure to working with both domestic and international students as well as on-campus and online students who are enrolled at the DEN@Viterbi master's programs. Assisting staff and faculty with administrative duties managed by the department to ensure smooth running of services will be a key role for this position.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
-Assist ISE advisors with advising of students
-Work on administrative tasks as assigned
-Answering admission related questions via email from prospective graduate students
-Assist with submitting faculty textbook requests
-Monitoring the department course syllabi files
-Assist with "D" Clearance on-line system
-Projects and other duties to be determined based on interest and personal/professional goals of graduate student
Requirements: Excellent written and verbal skills, organizational skills also important. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Student must be enrolled in a graduate program through the USC Rossier School of Education.
